Hello Hurricanes!

On a day when the heat was relentless and the pool deck felt like the surface of the sun, HRA topped Highland Park 220–200 to keep the undefeated season rolling.

Team history was made — twice! Tan Dinh took down a record that had stood since 1979, winning the 8&Under Boys 25M Breaststroke in a blazing 23.60. Not to be outdone, Jayna Mitchell broke the Girls 11-12 50M Breaststroke record set all the way back in 1989, touching in 41.82. Two records, one incredible day — congratulations to both of these Hurricanes!

The heat didn't stand a chance against our swimmers' energy. They cheered, encouraged, and celebrated each other from the first event to the last. We love our Hurricanes!

None of this happens without our volunteers behind the scenes. We see you, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Upcoming Events

• RSVP for the next ‘A’ meet and Monday’s ‘B’ meet by 12p on Monday: RSVP here
• The Division 12 Relay Carnival is July 8th at 6:30p. The coaches are getting ready to build our relays, but need your help first! If your swimmer(s) are available to participate, please RSVP here by Saturday at 6p.
• IM Carnival is July 9th at 6:30p, and swimmers must have a legal time in their event from this season to be eligible. Monday's B meet is their last shot to swim the IM before the cutoff, so make sure your swimmers are signed up. Once they have a legal time, RSVP here.
• Pancake Breakfast is July 10th at 10a on the middle deck after practice.

HOME 'B' Meet | Monday, July 6, 6p

We will be hosting Parliament on Monday for our next ‘B’ Meet. Monday evening “B Meets” are developmental meets, and all Hurricanes are encouraged to participate.

Tropical Storms, we’ll be starting the night with a kickboard race at 6:00p sharp, before the first official event. No need to sign up—just be there and ready to go! Coaches and volunteer lane leaders will be in the water to help the little ones across as needed.

• Swimmers can choose two individual events + IM.
• Important Note: If a swimmer placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an event at the Saturday “A” meet, they cannot swim that stroke at the “B” meet.
• Signup Deadline: Monday at 12p (noon)
• Visit the Signup Calendar to sign up your swimmer and volunteer. Need help? Refer to the ‘B’ Meet Instructions under the Resources tab on the team site.

SWIMMER & VOLUNTEER TIMING

• 4:15p: Setup crew arrives to setup
• 4:45p: Swimmers arrive; HRA warm-ups begin at 5:00p
• 4:50p: Coaches and Marshals ready to meet with Referee for a safety briefing
• 5:00p: Marshals in place for warm-ups
• 5:25p: Stroke/Turn Judges ready for briefing (baby pool area)
• 5:35p: Timers ready for briefing
• 6:00p: Meet begins

PARKING & FACILITIES

The parking lot is reserved for the visiting team and those who require close parking. Our team should walk to the pool or park on nearby streets (and please respect our neighbors) or at Woodburn Elementary School.

The upper pool, basketball, ping-pong/foosball, playground, baby pool, etc, are off-limits to all swim team members during the meet, even if they are done swimming. Swimmers and spectators are to use the restrooms in the Upper Pool House. The Lower Pool House restrooms are for the use of Officials only.
