'A' Meet Tomorrow, Fri 7/3 π Details + Meet Sheet
Hello Hurricanes!
Our next βAβ meet is tomorrow, Friday, July 3, at Highland Park!
Due to the holiday and the meet schedule change, we are taking a quick break from our usual Potluck & Pep Rally this week. Since next week is going to be incredibly busy, be sure to check the Updates and Reminders section below so you can dive into your preparations early!
Away 'A' Meet | Friday, July 3, 9a
The theme is 4th of July/USA! We will meet in the parking lot at 8:05a and walk in as a team.
- The official meet sheet will be posted in event details on the team website β you'll see your swimmer's events in SwimTopia.
- Please review the meet sheet carefully for your swimmer(s) name(s). We have some swim-ups for this meet so that you may find your swimmer(s) in an older age group.
- We have exhibition relays again this week!
- Swimmer not in the meet? Come anyway and cheer the team on!
- Event order: Freestyle β Backstroke β Breaststroke β Butterfly β Relays
- Swimmers hang out in the team area, cheering on teammates, and coaches will direct them to the Clerk of Course benches when it's time for them to swim.
- If you're able to stay for the whole meet, we'd love to have you β swimmers are part of the team until the final relay, and that's often when things get really exciting!

TEAM AND SPECTATOR AREAS
The team area is under the blue tents at the back of the pool. Our team will be on the left hand side if you are looking at the pool from the entrance (by the dive well). There will be some chairs/loungers, but swimmers are welcome to bring their own chairs as well.
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Please refer to the FAQs page on the website to see details on what to wear and bring to the meet. https://hrahurricanes.swimtopia.com/faqs
We already moved the meet to the morning to beat the heat, but Friday is still shaping up to be a scorcher (100+). Please send your swimmers with extra water (and Gatorade, etc.) and donβt forget the sunscreen! Cooling towels are helpful too.
Remember, no caps with logos other than HRA, and no tie-back suits!
Deck officials wear the NVSL dress code of white tops and navy (dark) bottoms, no denim.
CONCESSIONS
They will have donuts, Anita's burritos and coffee plus a variety of snacks and drinks available for sale. Rita's will also be on site to help keep us cool!
After Meet Team Lunch
We are planning an after-meet lunch for the team. We will keep you posted with details. We hope you can join us!
IMPORTANT Updates & Reminders
- The team photo is now available for download on the Resources page of the team website. Thanks again to Mary Cunningham!
- RSVP for βAβ and βBβ meets by 12p on Mondays: Swim Meets
- Next week is a busy one, Hurricanes! Along with our usual lineup, we have the Relay Carnival, IM Carnival, and our annual Pancake Breakfast. Check the Sign-Up Calendar, and stay tuned for more details on each event!
- IM Carnival is next week, and swimmers must have a legal time in their event from this season to be eligible. Monday's B meet is their last shot to swim the IM before the cutoff, so make sure your swimmers are signed up.
- Got epic action shots, goofy post-meet smiles, or team spirit photos from this week? Don't let them sit in your camera roll! Text your best shots to 571-422-6147. Our amazing Instagram Parent is ready to make our swimmers social media famous!
