Season opener: HRA 222, Parliament 198!

Perfect weather, a rowdy crowd, and an exciting win to start the season! Our swimmers brought it to the first A meet, and they're just getting started.

We're proud of every swimmer on this team. Their effort and sportsmanship are what make HRA special. And to our volunteers: thank you. None of this happens without you.

It was great seeing everyone out for the first potluck and pep rally of the season. Thanks to Mary Cunningham for taking the team picture, and to all the parents who helped corral swimmers, move tables, and anchor them down!

Happy Father's Day to all our HRA dads — the team wouldn't be the same without you.

HOME 'B' Meet | Monday, June 22, 6p

We will be hosting Lake Braddock on Monday for our next ‘B’ Meet. Monday evening, “B Meets” are developmental meets, and all Hurricanes are encouraged to participate.

Tropical Storms, we’ll be starting the night with a kickboard race at 6:00 PM sharp, before the first official event. No need to sign up—just be there and ready to go! Coaches and volunteer lane leaders will be in the water to help the little ones across as needed.

Sign Up:

• Swimmers can choose two individual events + IM.
• Important Note: If a swimmer placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an event at the Saturday “A” meet, they cannot swim that stroke at the “B” meet.
• Signup Deadline: Monday at 12p (noon)
• Visit the Signup Calendar to sign up your swimmer and volunteer. Need help? Refer to the ‘B’ Meet Instructions under the Resources tab on the team site.

Swimmer and Volunteer Timing

• 4:15p: Setup crew arrives to setup
• 4:45p: Swimmers arrive; HRA warm-ups begin at 5:00p
• 4:50p: Coaches and Marshals ready to meet with Referee for a safety briefing
• 5:00p: Marshals in place for warm-ups
• 5:25p: Stroke/Turn Judges ready for briefing (baby pool area)
• 5:35p: Timers ready for briefing
• 6:00p: Meet begins

Parking and Facilities
The parking lot is reserved for the visiting team and those who require close parking. Our team should walk to the pool or park on nearby streets (and please respect our neighbors) or at Woodburn Elementary School.

The upper pool, basketball, ping-pong/foosball, playground, baby pool, etc, are off-limits to all swim team members during the meet, even if they are done swimming. Swimmers and spectators are to use the restrooms in the Upper Pool House. The Lower Pool House restrooms are for the use of Officials only.
