Time Trials | Saturday, June 13, 8:30a
Woodley Pool, 7421 Camp Alger Ave., Falls Church, VA, 22042
Our main goal this weekend is to introduce new swimmers and volunteers to the structure and flow of a swim meet and to collect accurate times for the upcoming competitive A Meet.
- 3-Stroke Maximum: Each swimmer may select a maximum of three strokes to swim.
- Legality: Please only sign your swimmer/s up for strokes they can legally swim. If they are still mastering the form for a specific stroke, sit that one out for this meet.
- Coach Review: Coaches will review all entries and make any necessary adjustments based on each swimmer's ability to swim strokes legally and the data needed for the upcoming A Meet.
The order of events will be freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Swimmers will hang out in the team area, and the coaches will hand them their timecards and direct them to the Clerk of Course when it is time for their event.
You are welcome to leave after your swimmer has completed their events, as long as your volunteer position does not require you to stay. We expect the meet will finish around 11a- 12p.
All Hurricanes should attend (no Tropical Storms).
Volunteers
There are still openings for volunteers to help at Time Trials! Swim meets are 100% volunteer-run and cannot happen without your help. Please reach out to Volunteer.
Volunteer Coordinator Linnea Kessler-Gowell ([email protected]) can help if you’re not sure which position will be a good fit for you!

Parking and Facilities
There is ample parking at Woodley pool. Parents and Photographers are not permitted on the deck during the meet.
What to Wear and Bring
Although this is not an NVSL "A" meet, let's act as though it is. Remember, swimmers are not allowed to wear swim caps that display the name or logo of any team other than their own NVSL team. This means NO club caps. Tie-dye, tiny pizzas, flowers—all acceptable—though we’d love to see an HRA cap if you have one. Also, NO tie-back suits, please!
- We also ask that officials and deck volunteers wear navy blue bottoms and white tops.
- Some seating will be provided, but we suggest you bring a chair!
- Please refer to the FAQs page on the website to see details on what to wear and bring to the meet.
Reminders
At the end of every meet (home and away), let’s make sure we’re leaving our team area cleaner than we found it—even if the trash isn’t yours. Parents/Guardians, please help us out by reminding your swimmer(s) and checking the team area before heading out.
Woodley has asked that all swimmers stay off the playground and out of the baby pool for their safety. And remember to stay off the lane lines during warm-up!
Come Hungry!
Woodley Concessions will be open for business. Credit card, Apple Pay, or cash.
