Hello Hurricanes—

Time Trials went really well! So many swimmers crushed their times from last season. There were tons of personal bests and impressive time drops, too many to list them all. It was awesome to see Hurricanes not only competing hard but also shaking hands, supporting each other, and even pitching in to clean up the team area. Let’s keep that spirit going! 

Your swimmers’ times are available in the SwimTopia app. You can also download the full results from the Resources page on the team website; just remember that you’ll need to be logged in to access that page.

A big shoutout to all our fantastic volunteers who kept the swim meet running like a well-oiled (albeit slightly soggy) machine! Thank you for showing up and making it all happen. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces at the next meet!

And we won’t have to wait long because the next meet is Saturday, June 14, when we will be hosting Riverside Gardens for the first competitive “A” meet of the season. IMPORTANT: visit the Signup Calendar and let us know your swimmer(s) availability (and to volunteer) no later than Tuesday at 10am!

Our first Potluck & Pep Rally is Friday, June 13—pasta night! Please visit the Potluck Event for food assignments.

Our first developmental “B” meet is Monday, June 16, at Parliament. Signup will open the morning of the meet. Stand by for more information.

Team Picture/Swim Suit Sale Extravaganza | Tuesday, June 10

We’ll end the 9-12 practice a few minutes early, take a team picture at 6p, and then get the 8U practice rolling as soon as possible.

• Swimmers should wear their team swimsuits or plain black suits. If they don’t have one, they are welcome to wear their team t-shirt.
• Team t-shirts will also be passed out on Tuesday. We told you it was going to be an extravaganza.
• We need strong individuals to haul up three heavy picnic tables (for risers) to the Upper Pool Deck at 5:45p.
• We will also need parents to help organize kids by age and then by height.
• Please note: the team picture is featured on the team website and a print version will be posted on the team board in the pool house.

SportFair will set up shop on the Middle Deck from 4-7p, where you can try on and purchase a team suit right at HRA. For more information, please refer to the event listing on the Signup Calendar.

If your child has outgrown their team suit but still has some life left in it, consider bringing it to hand down to another swim team family. Find a team rep on the Middle Deck for the swimsuit swap before you hit the swimsuit sale.

• 9-12: 8:45 – 9:45a
• 8 & Under: 9:45 – 10:30a
• Tropical Storms will join us on June 16, at 9:45a
